Sunroot
Sunroot is a conceptual branding and packaging project developed for a Florida-based artisan vegan chocolate company. The objective was to create a brand that challenges the perception that ethical, plant-based products are either prohibitively expensive or marketed exclusively toward a niche audience. Instead, Sunroot positions itself as an approachable premium brand, one that offers handcrafted quality, honest ingredients, and thoughtful design while remaining welcoming and accessible to everyday consumers.
The brand is inspired by the relationship between sunlight and roots, two natural forces essential for growth. This relationship serves as both the visual and conceptual foundation of the identity system. The sun symbolizes warmth, optimism, and Florida's climate, while the roots represent authenticity, sustainability, and the brand's commitment to ethical sourcing. Together, these elements communicate the idea that meaningful products begin with strong values and responsible practices.
